本书“热点报告”部分中由中国社会科学院世界宗教研究所课题组撰写的《中国基督教入户问卷调查报告》已经经过国家宗教事务管理局等国家主管部门的审批，该项目是宗教所在国家有关主管部门和中国社科院指导下承担的重大课题，是国内首次对全国基督教情况进行的大规模调研分析，其中发布了许多重要数据，在宗教学界内外引起较大的反响。
